RM of Wolverine’s story
The Rural Municipality of Wolverine No. 340 lies in central Saskatchewan, east of Saskatoon. It was first incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909, under the name RM of Plasterfield No. 340.
The name didn't last long. On March 31, 1910, just a few months after incorporation, it became the RM of Wolverine No. 340, taking its name from Wolverine Lake, which lies near the centre of the municipality.
Today the RM includes the unincorporated communities and localities of Attica, Bay Trail, Burr and Wolverine. The RM office is in Burr, and a Canadian Pacific rail line on the Minnedosa–Saskatoon–Edmonton route passes through the area, serving Wolverine among other points.
